Selection Process

Applications will be reviewed by clinical staff members, and selected applicants will be contacted for a Zoom interview to take place in January 2024. Applicants will be notified of their interview status by December 15, 2023 through e-mail. As an APPIC member, we follow all APPIC policies and procedures regarding selection and notification.

USF-CAPS agrees to abide by the APPIC policy that no person at this training facility will solicit, accept, or use any ranking-related information from any intern applicant. Internship positions that remain open after Phase I of the APPIC Match will be offered in Phase II. For additional information about our training program, please refer to the Internship Training Manual or contact Dr. Nancy Glenn, Training Director at nlglenn@usfca.edu.

Background Check

The University of San Francisco conducts background checks on all new interns. All candidates for full-time and part-time assignments with the University must authorize a lawful background check as part of the application packet. An offer of employment is contingent upon verifying the accuracy of the information provided by the candidate and the background check results will determine suitability for employment at the University.

COVID-19

While faculty and staff are not required to be vaccinated for COVID-19, it is highly encouraged to be fully up to date with COVID-19 vaccinations, including boosters when eligible.  Vaccination including the booster dose is a vital tool to reduce the presence and severity of COVID-19 cases in the workplace and in our communities as a whole. For all current employees who have stated that they are fully vaccinated, the university requires proof of vaccination through a vaccine attestation form.  This includes employees working remotely. All submitted information is confidential and managed under the university’s data security systems. Please note that this vaccine policy may be subject to change.

Employees, regardless of vaccination status, must wear face coverings on campus when required by the University.

Equal Opportunity and Non-Discrimination Policy

The University is an equal opportunity institution of higher education. The University does not discriminate in employment, educational services and academic programs on the basis of an individual's race, color, religion, religious creed, ancestry, national origin, age (except minors), sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, marital status, medical condition (cancer-related and genetic-related) and disability, and the other bases prohibited by law. The University reasonably accommodates qualified individuals with disabilities under the law.

Note: We can not guarantee a chemical-free environment (i.e., scents, cologne, lotion, soap, etc.).
