A World of Hope for Street Children in Lima, Peru

On this immersion, students will be working with a group called​​​ Generacion, which provides shelter and support for the street children of Lima, Peru.

These children are often victims of neglect, poverty, sexual abuse and sex trafficking, HIV/AIDS, and other injustices. We will spend our days in the shelters working with the children and engaging in activities, and most importantly, learning from them with open hearts and minds.

Only the second day and we can’t stop smiling. Another day filled with joy and laughter. We met the amazing women of Generación that told us their heartfelt stories. The children created bracelets and sparked multiple conversations amongst the group ✨

We spent the day with the students from University of Antonio Ruiz De Montoya, that gave us a personal experience to life on campus and how the university is organized. The group was also honored to attend the Congresso of the Republica, we had the chance to learn about justice reforms and much more. ✨

Today we spent the day in Chincha learning about the Afro-Peruvian culture. We got to tour the town, learned about Afro-Peruvian music, visited the San José Hacienda, learned how to play el cajón, and finally danced el zapateado. 💃🏻💥
