Design Activism Community Engaged Learning Projects

through October 30th

Students from the Design Activism Community Engaged Learning course partnered with non-profit organizations in San Francisco to create work advocating for various issues. This year students partnered with SOMCAN, SF Children and Nature, the Point Bonita YMCA, and The Presidio Trust. Working in teams, the groups went through a design process including research, design ethnography, prototyping, critiquing multiple versions and creating finished products. The final outcomes will be used by the community partners in their work. This class gives students the unique opportunity to work on real world projects engaged with USF’s social justice mission, while providing design services to the San Francisco community. ART 365: Design Activism is taught by Professor Rachel Beth Egenhoefer.
