Dual Degree Committee

The Dual Degree Committee, comprised of faculty and administrators from the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Education, oversees the Dual Degree Program.

The purpose of this program is to attract outstanding high school graduates who are interested in becoming teachers. It coordinates Liberal Arts and Teacher Education offerings, provides an opportunity for students to pursue the BA, MA and Teacher Credential as a single, coherent effort while placing particular emphasis on providing students language/culture competence that will enable them as teachers to better meet the diverse needs of learners. The program consists of a Bachelor of Arts in a discipline, a Master’s in Education, and completion of the requirements to be recommended for a California Teaching Credential.
