Doing the Work: Building Empathy, Critical Thought and Agency through Education

Monday, April 19 5:00 PM - 6:15 PM

Online - via Zoom

In a spirit of new hopefulness, this event brings together School of Education (SOE) faculty, students, and alumni, as well as other interested educators, for a special book event to discuss expanding our impact on humanizing education.

We will start with a panel of four SOE faculty members (Dr. Judy Pace, Dr. Cori Bussolari, Dr. Genevieve Negrón-Gonzales, Dr. Belinda Hernandez-Arriaga) who have recently published books that provide conceptual and practical tools for building empathy, critical thought, and agency through education. Then, we will have dialogue in mixed breakout groups about how these books inspire new practices, collaborations, and models for expanding humanizing education in this time of new possibilities. We will close with insights and questions generated by our discussions to animate our future work. Registration is required

This event is presented by the USF School of Education's Center for Humanizing Education & Research (C-HER)
