GoUSF: Eco-Commuting

Thursday, April 20 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM

You don't need to know a lot about anything to recognize the utility and beauty of the humble bicycle, a vehicle of country kids, open mountain roads, and suburban dreams. But what about here in a city of bad roads, hills that just don't stop, dangerous traffic, and fickle weather? What are the resources and guides for your average person to not only navigate but thrive in these conditions (meanwhile saving a ton of money and the environment)? Let's find out! There is also quite a bit of (mis)information regarding electric vehicles on the internet these days, and the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022 inadvertently added to the confusion. Let’s dispel some of the misconceptions about electric vehicles, clarify how current EV incentives work, and share additional resources for going electric. Open to staff, faculty, and students. This presentation is part of GoUSF's Environmental Justice programming.
