For Transfer Students

Transferring to a new school can bring tons of excitement and trepidation about the journey ahead.

As you get ready to begin your new journey at USF, you may be wondering what this experience will be like--academically, socially, and personally. We have a special one-unit course, USF101, for transfer students, designed to help new transfer students transition to USF.  Emphasis is placed on developing strategies to succeed in upper-division coursework, exploring enrichment opportunities outside the classroom, and encouraging community and student engagement. The course will focus on the necessary skills and resources to successfully navigate this University and lessons on academic strategies for upper-division coursework. Guest presenters share information on career planning, tools for college success, and library resources. This course is helpful for transfer students who must navigate a new academic and co-curricular landscape.

USF101 for Transfers will help introduce you to other students and key resources. It is a chance to connect and network across the academic schools, residence halls, and the broader USF community. If you are commuting to campus, this course will help you meet peers and connect to campus life.

There is no better way to round out your first semester at USF, both academically, professionally, and personally. USF101 provides a unique space where you can connect with peers, learn more about how USF works, and discover the resources available to you.  If you want more information about USF101, please contact us at orientation@usfca.edu. This year, the course will be taught on Tuesdays from 5:45-6:50 pm.

We strongly encourage you to sign up for USF101 for Transfers; it’s only available during your very first semester on campus.
