ITS Infrastructure

ITS Infrastructure is a key part of the University's efforts to provide state-of-the-art technologies on all USF campuses.

What We Do

The Infrastructure team ensures that USF's faculty, staff and students have the latest technology to quickly communicate, collaborate, and successfully complete their goals. Our team is comprised of the System Administration, Networking, Telecom and Project Management teams.

Services

  • Telephones: We manage all the telephony needs of USF, including system upgrades for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). Telephone, fax, and modem service on the San Francisco campus and branch campuses.

  • Internet/Internet2: We ensure that high-speed internet connections are always available, and we collaborate with other leading universities and research institutions to develop breakthrough technologies.

  • Campus Data Network: We are continually improving the campus data network to take advantage of the latest technology. The present standard transmission speed for most university connections is 100 Mbits/sec.

  • Network Remote Access: Remote Access allows faculty and staff members to securely access internal USF private network resources such as Administrative Systems, File Servers, or Network Printing. Virtual Private Network (VPN) technology encrypts and secures data transmissions between your computer and the University network.

  • Cable TV: Cable TV services are available primarily to the University residence halls and select public areas.

  • Network Guest Access: Visitors to USF may self-register and receive guest access to wifi using the USF Visitors Network.
