Step 5: Apply for Housing

First, be sure to visit the Student Housing and Residential Education (SHaRE) website to learn about the benefits of living on campus and the different housing options. Check out the virtual tours for each residence hall room (click on each residence hall page to see the virtual tour).

For an overview of on- and off-campus housing, Living Learning Communities, and what it's like to be an RA, watch the SHaRE webinar hosted live in April 2020 by Torry Brouillard-Bruce, Senior Director of SHaRE.

When you're ready to apply for housing, submit the fall 2020 housing application at USFRooms. You'll be guided through the steps of selecting a meal plan, which is required for all students who live in a residence hall, unless you are assigned to Pedro Arrupe or Loyola Village.

First-Year Students

You are guaranteed housing for your first two semesters as long as you submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit (see Step 2) by May 1 and a completed housing application by May 8.

Students who miss the May 8 housing application deadline will be placed on a waitlist and assigned space as it becomes available.

Important: In some cases, you may not be eligible for guaranteed housing. Please review the Student Housing and Residential Education (SHaRE) for First Year/Transfer Students page for more information.

Transfer Students

Priority housing spaces for transfer students are limited, and we are unable to guarantee housing for incoming transfer students. To be eligible for priority housing, you must submit a non-refundable enrollment deposit by June 1 (or within two weeks of your admission) (See Step 2) and a completed housing application by June 8.

If you wish to live off campus, or if you did not receive an on-campus housing assignment, we strongly recommend that you connect with our Off Campus Living team. They can help you with apartment listings, finding a roommate, talking with landlords, and everything else that will ease your transition to city life.

What to Bring

Please visit Student Housing and Residential Education's What's In My Room? page to see a list of items you will find in your residence hall room upon arrival, recommendations about what items to bring with you to campus, and rules about what items you will not be allowed to keep in your room.

Deadline: May 8 (first-year students), or June 8 (transfer students will be considered for housing based on availability). Move-in Day is Saturday, August 15.
