Step 6: Complete Webtrack Advising and Directed Self Placement test

Webtrack Advising is our online class registration process for first-time students. It will guide you through the online class registration process and explain which classes to register for.

  • Watch the advising tutorials
Go to myusf.usfca.edu/webtrack and select your school/college (listed in your admission letter) from the side menu to watch the advising video tutorials. You'll learn about graduation requirements, our Core Curriculum, placement tests, and more. As you're going through Webtrack, keep a list of courses you'll need to register for so you can be ready for class registration.
  • Take the Directed Self Placement for your Rhetoric (RHET) classes

    Link for Transfer Students

This test will help you determine which Rhetoric (RHET) class to sign up for. This exercise is meant to take only about an hour or so.  If your acceptance letter indicated that you will be completing Academic English for Multilingual Students (AEM) courses at USF, or if you've opted in to enroll in the Honors College curriculum, you do not need to take the DSP.
  • Complete the Webtrack quiz
After watching the Webtrack videos, you must pass a quiz to be cleared for class registration. The quiz will be available starting May 26. Click on “Webtrack Quiz” from the Webtrack menu.
  • Sign up for a virtual advising appointment (or e-mail if you are not available by phone/Zoom).
You will receive an email from your academic faculty advisor to invite you to sign up for an appointment (phone, video, or email) to review and discuss the classes you have registered for. It’s important for you to register for classes before your scheduled phone appointment with your faculty adviser. If necessary, they will recommend course adjustments during the appointment.

Deadline: The Webtrack quiz will be available on May 26. You should view the videos and complete the quiz before class registration opens on Monday, June 1.
