Step 8: Register for Classes

Registration opens on April 21 for transfer and early decision first-year students, and June 21 for all other first-year students.

Before Registration

Registration

  • Search for classes
When it's time to register for classes, refer back to the Webtrack tutorial to see how to add classes to your schedule. You should register for at least 12–16 credit hours (register for 16 credit hours to stay on track for graduation).
  • Call us at (415) 422-4932 Monday–Friday, 9 a.m – 5 p.m. Pacific Time for registration help. The phone number is active all summer, but we'll have increased phone support from June 21–23.

After Registration

  • Attend orientation for more help
During orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet with a faculty adviser during the "Orientation to Your Major" session. Your adviser will be happy to review your class schedule and to answer any questions. Don't forget to register for orientation
  • Buy/rent textbooks
After you've registered for classes in myUSF, you can view your book list by clicking on Registration and then "Buy Textbooks Online," which will show you which books are required for each of your courses. You can rent or buy your books online through the USF Bookstore.
