Step 16: Keep In Touch
We look forward to welcoming you on campus in January!
When you arrive, please be sure to stay connected with some of the resources below. They are invested in your success and will support you in your college journey.
Our International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) Office staff will provide personalized advice on all aspects of your stay in the United States. From maintaining your visa status to working or traveling while you study to changing your address or changing your major, ISSS staff are here to help you.
Visit the ISSS website to learn more about their programs and services.
- Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA)
CASA staff will introduce you to the academic and personal resources on campus designed to support, promote, and encourage your success.
- Academic Coaching and Support
Your Academic Success Coach will provide you with academic coaching and personal support throughout your time at USF. International students may also receive assistance from special bilingual Coaches.
- Learning, Writing, & Speaking Centers
The Learning, Writing, & Speaking Centers provide you with opportunities to increase and enhance your academic skills and offer a variety of support services––all free––to help you succeed at USF.
Visit the Learning, Writing & Speaking Centers web page for more detailed information.
- Writing Center
Specially trained faculty consultants at the Writing Center work with you to improve your writing skills through one-on-one conferences tailored to meet your individual needs. You will learn how to conceptualize and develop an idea, create a first draft, correct your own errors, and write persuasively and with sophistication at the level demanded by college courses.
- Speaking Center
Peer Public Speaking Coaches at the Speaking Center will help you to prepare a variety of in- and out-of-class "talks." You will learn to craft introductions and conclusions to your speeches; to create concise and informative main points for your presentations; and to develop a personal public speaking style all your own.
Most importantly, Coaches will support you as you enhance and gain confidence in your spoken communication skills.
- Peer Tutoring
Peer Tutoring is available across the curriculum. Peer Tutors are current USF students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their subjects and who are committed to fostering academic success in others.
