Be a Part of the Move-In Day Team!

Want to get involved with Fall 2019 Orientation? 

Calling all current students!  

Join USF's Move-In Day Team to help welcome and assist the new students move into the residence halls on Saturday, August 17, 2019. If you have questions about this form or the Move-In Day Team, please contact New Student & Family Programs at  Also, apply to be a Move-In Day Captain! 

If you are living on-campus and wish to move-in early on Thursday, August 15 - please complete this form by Friday, June 21 at 5 pm to secure your early move-in request. We will not approve any more early arrivals after the deadline.  

If you are a member of a REGISTERED STUDENT ORGANIZATION: Please include the name of your organization under "Organization Affiliation."

There are two ways you can volunteer. 

The Move-In Day Team will provide assistance to new students and their families as they move into the residence halls (Hayes-Healy, Gillson, Toler, Fromm, and Lone Mountain).

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • 4-hour volunteer commitment (Saturday, August 17, 2019)
  • Control the flow of move-in bins
  • Assist students and their families with a professional manner
  • Assist students and families unloading their vehicle
  • Open and hold doors open for family and students
  • Provide an extra hand to students and families who have extra luggage
  • Float around the floors of the residence halls to provide help where needed
  • Be a friendly and welcoming face to new students and their families
  • Display positive attitude and represent USF in a positive manner
  • Create a sense of spirit and what it means to be a USF DON!

The Move-In Day Captain will provide on-site direction to the rest of the Move-In Day Team in their area and assist other staff members with flow and customer service.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Co-manage the Move-In Day team in your area with other staff volunteers and SHaRE team
  • Train the movers on expectations, reporting, lifting, customer service, and moving bin flow at the beginning of their shift
  • Attend a mandatory 2 hour training (Friday, August 16, 2019)
  • 4-hour volunteer commitment (Saturday, August 17, 2019)
