Hello IÕm a member of TransferNation Amanda Griffin, TransferNation Founder: I created TransferNation to provide a smaller community on campus. I felt that when I was in classes, if I found someone that was a transfer student, immediately I felt a little bit more connected with them. Gino Mascardo, TransferNation Member: We just wanted to have a community where we can look out for each other and do things with each other, cause a lot of times there tends to be an older crowd. Amanda: It's comforting to know that youÕre not the oldest person in your first year class. ItÕs comforting to know that other people have experienced that and felt isolated in their first couple weeks also. Gino: WeÕre here to help you with classes, or help you hang out, or figure out the city, or help figure out where to live. Amanda: We host events both off campus and on campus for both academic and social opportunities. Gino: WeÕd go to Giant games, weÕd go play in the park park, like frisbee. Amanda: Transfer students do relate more to each other. They understand the experience of giving up everything at your past school and coming to a brand new school, and I just wanted to give a community that provides that comfort.
