Hi. [KNOCKS] Professor Hunt? Hi. I'm Shannon. I'm in your RHET 110 class. Oh, it's nice to see you, Shannon. Yeah. Come on in. Nice to see you as well. Thank you. Have a seat. So how can I help you? Yeah. I just wanted to come check in. I'm registered with SDS. And so I don't know if you've received my letter or not yet. I did get an email from them. Yeah. You did. OK. Great, great, great. Yeah. So it said something about flexible attendance. Yeah, yeah. So really what that accommodation is that I have a disability or a condition that can flare up at times. So that gives me a little bit of flexibility whether-- because sometimes I'm not able to make class as a result. So obviously it's one of those things that's like I just don't know when it will flare up. And so that's to kind of help with that attendance in class. OK. Yeah. So a couple of things to keep in mind-- first, in-class work is a really important part of this class and so there's a lot of activities and so on that it's difficult to make up. So if it was a lecture that was recorded, you could listen to it, but there's not too much of that. A lot of it is teamwork and activities. So the in-class work is actually worth 20% of the grade. So it will be really important to try to miss as little of that possible. Yeah. No. Yeah, I definitely understand that and I will most definitely try to be there as much as possible. And it's one of those things, like, I may not even necessarily need that specific accommodation. Like, I may be fine. But it's just so hard to tell and I don't know when it will flare up or not or even if it will at all. So I guess it kind of is just trying to be in communication with you as much as possible and maybe I can even try to let you know as soon as it happens or prior to if I'm going to be missing class if that comes up and just try to communication with you in that way. Would that be OK? Yeah. So it will be possible generally to let me know before the class that you think you'll miss? Yeah, I can definitely try. Sometimes-- I mean, if I were to let you know shortly after, I would definitely try to make sure I'm emailing you or at least in some form of communication where I'm checking in, letting you know that that's what's going on. And then in terms of in-class work, I don't know-- maybe we could figure out a way, if this is OK, that I could try to make up some of that or I don't know if-- would you be open to doing some kind of extra credit portion? So that way I obviously want to make sure I get the work done and things like that, but I don't know what that looks like for you or what you think about that. OK. Well, people sometimes have to miss class-- I understand that-- for whatever reason, and so I always post the slides after class. And so you can check those and they'll have prompts and guidelines for the activities that we do. So you'll be able to see what we did in class. And if you miss more than maybe two or three classes in a semester, then we would start to think about having some kind of alternative assignment for you to help make up for what you missed. OK. Yeah, definitely. But generally, checking the slides right after and trying to complete the work as best you can that we did in class-- OK. OK. Yeah, no, definitely. I will definitely try to stay on top of that as much as possible. And then obviously, too, I always want to just let you know that if you ever have any other questions in regards to some of my accommodations, you're always free-- feel free to email my disability specialist too. Oh, wait. And that's in the letter? Yeah. It should be in the letter. It should be listed there, I think towards the bottom. I'm not sure. But that should be on there. So if you have any questions, you can definitely reach out to them. Great. Well, thanks for letting me know about this and definitely keep in touch. That's one of the most important things, especially as the semester gets busy. I might not remember the details of this conversation. Yeah. Fair, fair. So keep in close touch if you can. OK. OK. Thank you so much, Professor. Yeah, thanks for coming in. Yeah, thank you. Looking forward to it. Yeah. Take care. See you in class.
