The Graduate Student Senate (GSS) holds elections every April. All executive board and senator representative positions will be elected in the spring election. Any vacant positions of the GSS will be filled by appointment.

Position Descriptions

GSS President

Commitment: 8 hours per week
Serve as the CEO of the Senate and the graduate student representative to the University administration and Board of Trustees. Coordinate executive officer development and provide oversight and guidance over all Senate business.

Vice President of Internal Affairs

Commitment: 7 hours per week
Coordinate Senate meetings and internal operations. Plan and implement training and development opportunities for the Senate and ensure alignment with governing documents and codes.

Vice President of Treasury

Commitment: 7 hours per week
Oversee the allocation of the AGSUSF Operating Budget of approximately $150,000. Coordinate funding opportunities for graduate student conference funding and graduate student organization event and development funding.

Vice President of External Affairs

Commitment: 7 hours per week
Plan the signature events of the Senate bringing together all USF graduate students. Plan a communication and marketing strategy for the Senate and oversee the content of the website and all social media platforms.

Vice President of Mission

Commitment: 7 hours per week
Coordinate education, awareness, and advocacy initiatives and programs of the Senate. Work with all officers to instill the social justice mission of the University and of the Senate in all Senate business.

Senator Representatives

Commitment: 4 hours per week
Serve as the voice of your peers! Each school/college has two senators that represent the need areas and aims to cultivate community within the graduate student body.

All positions are compensated student-employment positions.
