Discover and Develop Your Communication Skills #2: Developing Your Unique Presentation

Wednesday, September 18 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM

McLaren Complex — 251

Effective communication is important. By delivering messages clearly, there is less room for misunderstanding or alteration of messages, which decreases the potential for conflict. In situations where conflict arises, effective communication is a key factor to ensure that the situation is resolved respectfully.

Join us for the second of three building effective communication workshops. In this workshop #2, we work on developing your first speech, including finding resources and evidence, developing and organizing content, storytelling, and honing your message. You’ll develop your visual aids and participate in short practice exercises.

This is part 2 of 3 communication skills series. In all 3, you will Discover your communication style, Develop your unique presentation, and Share your presentation. Led by Patrick McDonnell (Professor of Rhetoric and Language), and Ken Yoshioka (Senior Instructional Technologist, ITT), and Suzy Kisylia (GoUSF). It’s highly encouraged and would be most beneficial if you are able to attend all 3 workshops. They build on each other.
