The Center for Asia Pacific Studies welcomes Dr. Anita Huang for an engaging introduction to food and health through the lens of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).

In TCM, food is understood not simply as nourishment, but as a way to support the body’s balance and well-being. Dr. Huang will explore how foods are understood through their five flavors—sour, bitter, sweet, pungent, and salty—and their thermal nature, from hot and warm to neutral, cool, and cold. She will also discuss how food choices can be tailored to an individual’s constitution, symptoms, and the changing seasons.

Join us to discover a different way of thinking about the foods we eat and their role in supporting health and balance.
