Thursday, April 17 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
McLaren Complex — 251

Chris Levaggi, Senior Zero Waste Specialist at Recology SF, will speak about zero waste and the inherent benefits of enlightened environmental justice, emphasizing social equity as a component for environmental sustainability. He will also expand on the rate methodology that incentivizes zero waste practices while discouraging wasteful behaviors.
Chris is a native San Franciscan and the son of an USF alum and professor. He has been promoting and developing recycling and composting in the City over his 40 year career. The legacy of his works can be found in the recycling and compost collection programs in every office building, hotel, and major event space in San Francisco. He has been a guest instructor at SFSU and at City College on resource conservation. As a side gig, Chris has salvaged and refurbished thousands of cast-off bicycles, enough to span the breadth of our City. Ride On!
The entire USF community is invited to attend. This event is part of GoUSF’s April Environmental Justice Programming.
