Judges and Politics: Navigating the Intersection of Law, Power and Ethics.

Across the country, courts and judges are facing growing public scrutiny and political pressure. How do we protect the independence of our judiciary — and why does it matter for our democracy?

Join us on Wednesday, September 18, 2025, for the University of San Francisco’s annual Constitution Day program:

“Judges and Politics: Navigating the Intersection of Law, Power, and Ethics.”

This year’s event will feature the Honorable Linda Colfax moderating a panel of distinguished judicial officers, including:

  • Justice Teri L. Jackson
  • Judge Suzanne Bolanos (Ret.)
  • Judge Michael I. Begert

Together, they will lead an interactive town hall exploring how the courts can remain fair and impartial amidst growing polarization — and what role we play in safeguarding our democracy.

Date: Wednesday, September 18, 2025

Time: 5:30-6:30pm PT

Location: Fromm Hall - Xavier Room

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.
