This workshop, hosted in collaboration with Narcare and the San Francisco Department of Public Health, provides hands-on Narcan training led by public health professionals. Participants will learn how to recognize and respond to opioid overdoses and will receive guidance and supplies directly from trained experts to support real-world emergency preparedness.

What is Narcare? Narcare is a student-led nonprofit and official chapter of the national Narcare organization, dedicated to combating the opioid crisis through harm reduction, education, and community empowerment. Focused on public health advocacy, Narcare raises awareness about the dangers of opioid misuse, particularly fentanyl, and provides life-saving tools like naloxone (Narcan) to vulnerable populations. Through educational events, outreach, and local partnerships, we empower students to reduce stigma, advocate for evidence-based solutions, and support underserved communities. Guided by the values of compassion, responsibility, accessibility, and social justice, Narcare fosters a proactive campus culture committed to health equity.
