Aysha Hidayatullah is Associate Professor in the Department of Theology and Religious Studies. She teaches undergraduate courses on gender, sexuality, race, ethics, and religious studies in Islamic traditions. She is the 2025-2026 NEH Chair in the Humanities at USF.
This presentation discusses findings from Professor Hidayatullah’s forthcoming book on the mutual constitution of gender and religion. Her research interests include gender and sexuality in Islamic traditions and constructive Muslim theology.
