Bill and Trisha Jordan Scholarship

The Bill and Trisha Jordan Scholarship was made possible through the generosity of William (Bill) Jordan III and his spouse, Trisha, who made this gift to support scholars in the USF in DC programand McCarthy Fellows in Sacramento program.

Please explain why you are seeking the Bill and Trisha Jordan Scholarship and how you will use the funds. Please respond in two or more paragraphs.

Bill is recognized for his volunteer and philanthropic work, which he credits to his USF education. As a student, Bill was very active at USF and volunteered at a local family shelter through the University Ministry programs. After graduating from USF, he worked with Leo T. McCarthy on his 1992 senate campaign and later on campaigns for Nancy Pelosi; both encouraged him to go to law school. Please share your commitment to public service and what in your experiences inform your understanding of public service and/or community engagement as it relates to your future career goals.

If selected as the recipient of this award, the student must complete the following: (1) Write a thank you letter to the donor (2) Be available for any follow-up updates to share with the donor (3) Complete a blog post for the McCarthy Center blog, describing your experiences in the McCarthy Center program.
