Evacuation Chairs and Stretchers

An evacuation chair is essential for evacuating individuals who are injured, elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to use the stairs on their own when an elevator is not an option. They are used by emergency responders or trained personnel to transport people down stairways in a controlled and secure manner.

These chairs are located in nearly all university buildings. The Department of Public Safety ensures these chairs are maintained and in good working order.
