Welcome to the Entrepreneurship and Innovation program at USF. The steps below will provide you with the information you need to successfully enroll.

Reserve Your Spot

Congratulations on your acceptance to the USF School of Management. Your official admission packet will arrive via post mail shortly.

myUSF

myUSF is your personal connection to your student information. Log in to myUSF with the username and ID number listed in the acceptance letter posted to your online application. Within myUSF you can pay your admission deposit and accept your financial aid award. You will also find your class schedule and book lists here as your orientation date approaches. Video tutorials to help get you started with myUSF and many other USF interfaces can be accessed here.

Step 1) Log In to Your myUSF Account

Your personal myUSF account has already been created for you. myUSF is the gateway to the university where you can register for classes, pay tuition, access your USF email, view your student record and update your contact information.

The first time you log in, you will need to create a password. Please follow instructions below:

  1. Visit http://myusf.usfca.edu
  2. Choose Set New/Forgot password
  3. Enter your USF username (indicated on your online and printed acceptance letters) and the CAPTCHA text
  4. Click Submit
  5. Enter your USF Student ID / CWID # (indicated on your online and printed acceptance letters)
  6. Enter your date of birth
  7. Click Submit

Step 2) Pay Your Admission Deposit 

Click here to secure your spot in the MSEI program by paying your $500 admission deposit. International students may elect to participate in the U.S. Business and Culture Class (USBCC). USBCC is an additional $500 deposit, for a total admission deposit of $1,000. All deposits are non-refundable and will be credited to your first term's tuition.

Please note: If your deposit is not received by the deadline indicated in your acceptance letter, the School of Management reserves the right to rescind your admission and any scholarship received. Click here to pay your deposit today. 

Step 3) Update your personal information

  1. Login to myUSF with your Username and Password (see Step 1).
  2. Select Student Self-Service.
  3. Click on the Personal Information tab to update addresses, phone numbers, and emergency contacts. 

Step 4) Submit official transcripts

Access to registration will only be granted to students who have both deposited and submitted official transcripts from all institutions listed on their application. If you have not already submitted official, sealed transcripts, please send them as soon as possible to:

Your online application will reflect when transcripts have been "received-official". Please log in to your online application to check the status of your transcripts. If you have any questions/believe your status to be incorrect, please contact graduate@usfca.edu, or 415-422-4723.

Getting Started

Orientation: Orientation introduces new students to campus resources and provides opportunities to attend program-specific breakout sessions with faculty and academic advisors. Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students. The Graduate Student Affairs Office contacts deposited students with Orientation schedules and final details by mid-July. 

Please mark your calendar and plan to join us August 19th, 2017* at the USF Downtown Campus, 101 Howard Street, Suite 500. *This date is subject to change.

Registration: The Graduate Student Affairs Office registers all deposited students for their first semester. You can expect more information about this course schedule in early August. Students who have not submitted the admission deposit and official transcripts will not be registered.

Student ID/One Card: All registered USF students are issued a university photo ID called a One Card. Your USF One Card grants access to on-campus resources, including classroom buildings, Don Dollars accounts, Gleeson Library, and Koret Health and Recreation Center after the first day of classes. Don Dollars can be added to your One Card for use on campus at the bookstore, dining locations, vending machines, and for printing.

To obtain your One Card: Please follow the instructions on the Online ID Express. The Graduate Student Affairs Office will give you your One Card at Orientation.

Textbooks: Books are not included in tuition and fees. Your required book list will be available to you via myUSF after registration in early August.

Canvas: Canvas is an educational software platform that provides a user-friendly environment for online teaching and learning. Many of your faculty may use Canvas to post information relevant to their course including the syllabus, course readings and discussion boards*.

To access Canvas

  1. Login to myUSF
  2. Click on the Canvas box
  3. Click on Instructure Canvas, then select the Courses tab.

*You will not see course information until you are registered AND only once the instructor has published his/her course to Canvas.

Health Insurance

  • Automatic enrollment:
    To protect your health and well-being all domestic graduate students registered for 6 credit hours or more, all international graduate students registered for 1 credit hour or more, and all graduate students who reside in USF operated housing will be automatically charged and enrolled in the USF-sponsored health insurance provided through Aetna.

    Exception: Graduate students enrolled in online degree programs who do not reside in USF operated housing will NOT be automatically charged and enrolled in the USF-sponsored health insurance.
  • Waive USF plan:
    Students who have a health insurance plan with coverage comparable to the USF-sponsored plan may choose to waive the student insurance each academic year. Students can visit the Health Promotion Services website to view waiver instructions and access the health insurance waiver application.
  • Voluntary Enrollment:
    Domestic graduate students registered for under 6 credit hours and graduate students enrolled in an online degree program are eligible to voluntarily purchase the plan online by visiting myusf.usfca.edu/hps.

Deadline: The deadline to waive the student insurance or voluntarily enroll in the plan for the fall semester is September 1. The deadline for the spring semester is February 1.

Immunization

To protect the health of all USF community members, USF requires all international students and domestic graduate students living in university-operated housing to submit proof of immunizations.

  • Domestic Students (residing in USF-operated housing only):
    Graduate students born on or after January 1, 1957, who are living in USF-operated housing, must submit evidence of two doses of the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine. If proof of immunization for MMR is not available, a blood titer showing immunity for each disease will be accepted.
  • International Students:
    International students must submit the following immunization records:
  1. Evidence of two doses of the MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella) vaccine. If proof of immunization for MMR is not available, a blood titer showing immunity for each disease will be accepted.
  2. Proof of a Tuberculosis PPD (Montaoux) test administered within the last 12 months. (Students with a positive PPD test are required to submit the results of a chest x-ray administered in the last 12 months).
  3. Proof of three doses of the Hepatitis B vaccine or a test showing immunity.
  • Submit proof:
    Students must submit their records through the online HPS Immunization form, or by fax at 888-471-2290. Records such as an immunization card, high school transcript showing immunization, or Evidence of Immunization form signed by a licensed medical professional will be accepted. If needed, download the Evidence of Immunization form by clicking here.
  • Deadline:
    The deadline to submit proof of immunizations for the Fall semester is August 15. The deadline for the Spring semester is January 15. Failure to submit required records will result in a $100 late fine and possible registration hold.

NOT ANYMORE

Not Anymore for Graduates is a mandated online 1 hour training program designed to educate students about consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, as well as the realities of sexual assault, dating violence, domestic violence (including Title IX and Campus SaVE Act). All incoming graduate students, additional campus students, and online students are required to take the course. 

Students who do not successfully complete the Not Anymore course will be fined $100.

  • Online Course:
    Registered students will receive an email with instructions to take the course. The email will be sent to your MyUSF email address from Vector Solutions. 
  • Access the course:
    Go to Health Promotion Services for information or visit the Not Anymore website.

Deadline:

  • Fall Semester Admits: August 15
  • Spring Semester Admits: January 15

Financing Your Degree

Financing a graduate degree represents a significant investment in your future. The USF Office of Student Accounts is committed to helping you find the best funding available. Financial Aid advisors are available to discuss federal and private loan options and to answer questions about company reimbursement, veteran’s benefits, and other potential funding opportunities.

If you received a Financial Aid award you must accept the award online in order to receive it.
To check the status of your financial aid:

  1. Login to myUSF.
  2. Click on Self-Service.
  3. In the the Student section click on Financial Aid.

Accept or Decline your financial aid offer within 30 days

  1. Click on the Award link.
  2. Follow instructions as required.

USF Scholarships: Scholarship recipients are notified of their award amount and distribution at the time of admission. USF scholarships are applied automatically to the recipient’s account and it is not necessary to take any action to accept the award.

Tuition and Payment: Tuition and any applicable fees are charged to your student account after registration. Please adhere to payment deadlines reflected in your tuition bill.

To make a Payment:

  1. Login to myUSF.
  2. Select the View & Pay link.

There, you can view your bill, make a payment, and more. Remember, you will not receive a paper bill, so you must log into View & Pay to view your balance. You may not use a credit card to pay for tuition and fees. Information about accepted forms of payment can be found here. If your semester balance cannot be paid in full, the university offers payment plans. To learn more, please visit the Office of Student Accounts.

International Students

Obtaining/Maintaining a Student Visa: International students applying for an F-1 student visa should find their I-20 enclosed in their acceptance packet. Students who currently hold a valid F-1 student visa need to have an international advisor from their current school transfer their I-20 (SEVIS record) to the University of San Francisco. Please check the information on your I-20 carefully. For more information on applying for a student visa, paying the SEVIS fee, and other immigration-related information, please visit the Pre-Arrival section of the International Student and Scholar Services website.

If you enter the U.S. on an I-20 issued by the University of San Francisco, you are expected to enroll at USF for that specific term and cannot transfer to another school for, at least, one academic term. International students must complete their Status Verification process in the International Student and Scholar Services Office within the first week of classes. Please bring your passport, USF I-20, previous I-20’s, and I-94 (issued upon arrival in U.S.) to the International Student and Scholar Services Office in the University Center, 5th floor.

United States Business Culture Class (USBCC): International students admitted to full-time programs are encouraged to attend the USBCC program. Students form teams and work on projects that focus on collaboration, research, business forecasting, and presentation and communication skills. At the same time, students learn to interpret how conversational, classroom, and professional behavior and communication differs from culture to culture. USBCC is optional for MSEI International students, USBCC will be held on August 1, 2017 at 101 Howard St, San Francisco, CA 94105.

International Student Orientation: Upon arriving at USF, all new Graduate International Students must attend the Graduate International Student Orientation program. International Student Orientation addresses areas of cultural adjustment, academics in the United States, immigration matters, USF and San Francisco resources, and other points of interest. You'll have the opportunity to meet other new students and to ask questions of current students. A detailed schedule with additional optional activities will be posted on the Orientation section of the ISSS website

ISSS Airport Shuttle: ISSS offers a transportation shuttle from the San Francisco International Airport to USF. Students can learn more about this shuttle and register for a ride on the ISSS website.

Health Insurance & Immunizations: All international students enrolled in one unit or more is automatically enrolled in and charged for the USF-sponsored health insurance plan. To waive the insurance requirement, your insurance plan must be comparable to or better than the USF Sponsored Health insurance plan. International students are required to submit proof of immunization. For deadlines and how to submit your proof of immunization, please refer to the Health Promotion Services website.

International Student Mentor Program: Have questions about USF, concerns about moving, or maybe just want to make some friends? If so, the International Mentoring Program may be of interest to you!

New international students can build their community by meeting and seeking advice from current 2nd year USF students. The International Mentoring Program helps answer your questions about campus resources, living in the Bay Area, and adjusting to new situations.
