What needs to be submitted to the IACUC?
All research and teaching using vertebrate animals should submit an IACUC application. Observational studies and the use of non-living vertebrates can be exempted from full committee review but an application should be submitted with relevant sections completed. Projects involving living vertebrate animals and field studies that include manipulation of vertebrates and/or alteration of environments to study vertebrates should submit an application for full committee review.
