Who is the Hawaiian Ensemble? The Hawaiian Ensemble is dedicated to promoting and perpetuating Polynesian cultural traditions through dance, specifically hula and ’ori tahiti. Hawaiian Ensemble is a way of spreading awareness of Polynesian dance culture to everyone on campus, Polynesians and non-Polynesians alike, thereby supporting the preservation of the culture and stories that we are so proud to learn from. They choreograph their own dances, carrying out the importance and meaning of the Polynesian oral tradition. Their student-led goal is to contribute to the University’s mission, “Change the world from here”, by bringing the Aloha spirit and the diverse culture of the Polynesian Islands to USF and the Bay Area community. Stay updated on future events and dance workshops by following @usfhawaiianensemble on Instagram.
