Do you need to be in a leadership position to be a leader? How can staff embody characteristics of leadership and what would those characteristics look like? This session explores the possibilities, benefits and challenges of being a leader from the trenches, even if the term "leader" isn’t an official part of the staff position. We’ll explore how each of us can make a difference and be able to be an influence for good.

Led by Ken Yoshioka: My USF journey began in 2000 at the IT Services Help Desk, where I spent 7 years helping build the department. I later joined the Center for Instruction and Technology in 2007, then moved to Instructional Technology and Training in 2017 as a Senior Instructional Technologist. Over the years, I’ve supported tools like Banner, Zoom, Panopto, Poll Everywhere, podcasting, and HyFlex events, always aiming to bring a human touch to technology at USF. Outside of work, I enjoy nature and photography.
