Author Alexis Herr and book, "LGBTQI+ Persecution and the Holocaosut"

During the Holocaust, LGBTQI+ persons had varying roles, such as victims, survivors, perpetrators, bystanders, and everything else in between. Nonetheless, their stories have been relegated to the shadows, largely due to postwar politics and queerphobia that has outlasted the Nazi regime. Join us in welcoming back former JSSJ faculty Alexis Herr, author of LGBTQI+ Persecution and the Holocaust, as she sheds light on queer experiences during the Holocaust by sharing some of the stories history has too often overlooked and forgotten. Following her keynote address, Herr will be in conversation with JSSJ Holocaust and Genocide studies Professor Juddson Taube regarding her new book.
