The Tech Partnerships Initiative is excited to announce our new mentoring program! Launching in fall 2026, this program will connect undergraduate juniors and seniors interested in tech with industry professionals and USF alumni over the 2026–27 academic year.

We have partnered with some amazing mentors who are working in areas like civil engineering, software engineering, AI, data science, UX/UI design, and more!

A little bit about the program...

  • Mentee applications will be reviewed by mentors, and final decisions will be made by mentors.
  • You will meet virtually (or in person if you both prefer) with your mentor at least once per month.
  • The program will run for one academic year (September through May) — exact dates will be announced later on.
  • This is the first time we are running this program, so we are expecting to start off with a small trial group of mentors/mentees. If your application is not chosen the first time around, we recommend applying to the next session of the program.
  • At this time, applications are only open to juniors and seniors who will graduate in May 2027, December 2027, or May 2028.

What is required of me as a mentee?

  • Connect with your mentor once a month, either in person or online.
  • Take initiative by scheduling meetings and arriving prepared. Show a genuine interest, and ask questions!
  • Complete personal and professional goals assigned to you by your mentor (and create your own!). Mark these as complete by the assigned due date.
  • Demonstrate professionalism by being timely, open to feedback, expressing a willingness to learn, and following through on commitments.
  • What are the benefits of connecting with a mentor?

Expanding your professional network.

  • Possible connections to internships and job opportunities.
  • Gain insight into what it is like to work in the tech field today.
  • Develop communication and goal-setting skills.

The application deadline is June 22 at 11:59 p.m. PDT.
