Herstory: Celebrating Chinese American Legal Legacy exhibit

Saturday, September 5 12:00 AM - 12:00 AM

Kalmanovitz Hall — Atrium Art Exhibit

Illustration of many Asian American women and civil rights leaders

Herstory 1–3: The Legal History of Chinese American Women illuminates the often-forgotten journey of Chinese American women from 1852 to 2024—from exclusion and invisibility to courage, achievement, and leadership.

The exhibition reveals how generations of women challenged injustice, broke barriers, and transformed themselves from outsiders denied a voice into judges, lawmakers, leaders, and change makers shaping American life.

Their victories were rarely theirs alone: each barrier broken opened a door for the women who came after them. Herstory restores these remarkable women to the history they helped create and reminds us why their stories must be seen, heard, and remembered.

This exhibit runs from September 1 to September 15.
