Custodial Services
Below are planned cleaning services and schedules that USF’s Facilities Department has identified for residence halls, offices, classrooms, dining facilities, and other spaces to be reoccupied on the Hilltop and 101 Howard campuses once shelter-in-place orders are rescinded or modified to permit residential activities and on-site instruction. Dining Facilities
UC - Market Café
Monday – Friday (9:00pm to 5:00am) – Back of the House
Daily:
- Clean (sweep, scrub and mop) floors, move the floor mats to the loading dock for cleaning, clean all drains, and empty the trash, recycle, and compost bins in:
- The main kitchen
- Bakery area: take out all mobile equipment to clean and return it when done.
- Dish wash area
- Cooking areas
- Catering rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor
- Corridors on the 1st and 2nd floor
- Back of the House staircase
- Clean surface and disinfect high touch areas in restrooms and locker rooms.
- Clean and disinfect high touch areas in the freight elevator.
Monday – Friday (9:00pm to 5:00am) – Front of the House
Daily: Sweep all floors and remove trash in Sushi bar, Deli bar, Coffee bar
Twice a Week (2W): Scrub and mop all floors in Sushi bar, Deli bar, Coffee bar
Monday – Friday (9:00pm to 8:30pm) – Front of the House – Day Porter Service
Daily:
- Replenish hand sanitizer dispensers if needed
- Clear and clean tables
- Spot clean chairs
- Remove trash from dining area
- Clean surfaces and disinfect high touch areas in the 1st and 2nd floor restrooms
UC 1st Floor – Crossroads Café
Daily: Sweep floor behind the counter; remove trash from the serving area
Twice a Week (2W): Mop floor behind counter; clean mats behind counter
UC 1st Floor – Outtakes
Daily:
- Clean tables in dining area
- Sweep dining area, store, and kitchen area
- Empty ecostations

School of Ed – Club Ed
Daily: Clean tables in dining area; sweep store and dining area
Once a Week (1W): Mop store and dining area
Kendrick Hall – Law Cafe
Daily: Clean tables in dining area; Sweep store and dining area

LM Main – Dining Commons
Daily:
- Clean table in dining area
- Sweep store and dining floor
- Sweep store back of the house
- Remove trash daily in dining area and back of the house
Twice a Week (2W):
- Sweep, scrub and mop floor in the back of the house
- Mop store and dining area
Weekend Service (9:00pm to 5:00am) UC Market Café only
Daily:
- Clean floor mats, sweep and mop all floors in the back of the house (bakery, dish wash area, cooking areas, and corridors)
- Sweep and mop catering corridor and the two catering rooms
- Clean restrooms and disinfect high touch areas
- Empty ecostations in the dining area and back of the house

- Wipe down chalk/white board (restock dry erase markers and erasers)
- Vacuum
Public Areas (hallways and lobbies)
Daily:
- Disinfect high touch areas
- Remove trash and replace liners
- Spot sweep or mop if needed
Twice a week: Clean surfaces; Vacuum or sweep & mop
Once a Month: Dust (high and low areas)
Kitchens
Daily:
- Clean surfaces and disinfect high touch areas
- Remove trash and replace liners
Stairwells and Trash Rooms
Daily: Disinfect high touch areas; Spot sweep floor
Twice a Week (2W): Dust handrails and windowsills; Sweep floor
Once a Week (1W): Mop floor
Utility Cleaning
Utility service reduced to assign disinfecting tasks
- Disinfect high traffic areas with electrostatic sprayer
- Replenish hand sanitizer dispensers and change batteries if needed
Carpet Cleaning
Hallways and Lounges
- 1x per Year (1Y): Carpet extraction
- 2x per Year (2Y): Shampoo
Floor Cleaning
Lobbies, Elevators, Hallways, Laundry Rooms, and Kitchens
- Once every other year: Strip and apply floor protector
- 1x per Year (1Y): Buff floors
High Dusting
1x per Year (1Y): lounges (above 9ft)
Note: Indoor glass wall cleaning will not be provided due to limited personnel. Furthermore, window cleaning is not within the custodial contractor’s scope of work.
Academic Buildings
Offices
Once a Month:
- Disinfect high touch areas

- Trash removal not included
Classrooms

- Remove trash and replace liners
Once a Week: Vacuum or sweep & mop floors

Daily:
- Clean surfaces and disinfect high touch areas
- Remove trash and replace liners
Twice a Week: Vacuum or sweep & mop floors

- High Traffic Public Areas: 2x per Year (2Y) – Spot shampoo
- Regular to Low Traffic Public Areas: 1x per Year (1Y) – Spot shampoo
Floor Cleaning
Offices: Once every other year – Strip and apply wax (all personal items to be moved by occupant prior to work being done)
Classrooms – High traffic:
- Every other year – Strip and apply floor protector
- As needed (no more than once a year) – Buff floors
Classrooms – Low traffic:
- Every three years – Strip and apply floor protector
- Every other year – Buff floors
Hallways – High traffic:
