WSCUC Accreditation

University Accreditation

The University of San Francisco is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC). Accreditation entitles the University to participate in federal student financial aid programs. Accreditation also helps ensure that credits and degrees are generally recognized for purposes of transfer, admission to other institutions, and employment. WSCUC has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Education since 1962 and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation as a reliable authority concerning the quality of education provided by the institutions of higher education offering the baccalaureate degree and post-baccalaureate degrees.

WSCUC is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation established for the purposes of accrediting senior colleges and universities in the region.

The University's WSCUC liaison is Deborah Panter (dpanter@usfca.edu), Associate Vice Provost for Educational Effectiveness, in the Office of Assessment and Accreditation Support.
