Community Perspectives

Community is at the core of Arrupe Initiatives, and it is hard to create a community when we can’t meet in person. We are introducing Community Perspective, as a platform to collect reflections, experiences, and commentary from wherever you are. We publish these pieces on our Blog and Social Media.

Subject Matter.

The potential subject matter for Community Perspectives is broad. We accept commentary on national and even international topics if the point of view emphasizes community engagement and solidarity. Essays on local issues work well if when they illustrate larger concerns with which other communities are struggling. Observations on everyday life are encouraged, especially if they make a broader point about who we are and how we live. We encourage submissions from all USF communities but give priority to students’ voices.

Some questions to reflect on for inspiration:

  • How are you finding/building community this semester?
  • How is your experience of an Arrupe immersion helping you deal with the pandemic?
  • How are you advocating for justice?
