Self-Service Print/Copy Program

Purchasing & Ancillary Services (PaAS) is pleased to announce that Sharp Business Systems was awarded a 5-year contract for USF’s Self-Service Print/Copy Program, effective June 1, 2021.


PaAS has standardized the multi-functional-printer (MFP) fleet to Sharp Model MX-5071 at all MFP locations. The MX-5071 was selected because of its enhanced functionality, intuitive design, proven reliability, and ability to meet USF data security and other technological requirements.

PRICE LIST

For USF FY23, the cost-per-click (CPC) rates for the University Community will not increase. University Community is defined as Student, Faculty, Staff, Departments, and Affiliates.  Guest CPC rates will be announced before the start of the Fall Semester.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Don Dollars balance to cover the cost of the print/copy job OR 
  • USF FOAP(s) assigned to your USF ID OR
  • A FOAP Print/Copy card 

University policy prohibits students or student employees to have University FOAP(s) assigned to their USF ID.  To add, revise, or cancel the ability to charge USF FOAP(s), Budget Managers are required to submit the PRINT/COPY FOAP ACCESS form in Hilltop Shop.  This form should also be used to request FOAP Print/Copy Cards for Students, Student Employees, Department Visitors or short-term Consultants.  FOAP Print/Copy Cards expire on May 31 each year.

ADDITIONAL PRINT/COPY INFORMATION

  1. Print to ANY Self-Service Print/Copy Program Multi-functional printer (MFP) device. 
  2. Documents are available to print for up to 2 hours.  
  3. After the job prints or two (2) hours are exceeded, the job is removed from the USF print server.
  4. The default setting on MFP devices are set to DOUBLE-SIDED, BLACK/WHITE prints/copies.  
  5. Please preview your job before printing/copying.  The Self-Service Print-Copy Program does not issue refunds.

DRIVERLESS PRINTING

  • 3 Ways to Print WITHOUT Downloading Print Drivers
  • To print, connection to the USF network is required. 
  • For USF-Managed devices, connect to USF-Wireless. For personal devices, register the device to USFConnect to use the University's Sharp MFP fleet for printing, copying, and scanning.

1. Mobile Phone or Tablet (no print driver required)

Step 1. Install the Pharos Print app. Connect to the USF Network when using this app.

Step 2. Server Address: print.usfca.edu

Step 3. Port Number: 443

To release your print job, go to any MFP location, tap OneCard, OneCard Mobile, or Copy Card and print your document. Use DonDollars or FOAP accounts.

2. Email (no print driver required)

Send a print job to either of the below email addresses. Use this option for quick printing in black/white or color.

  • LOG-IN:  MyUSF Network
  • WEBSITE: My Print Center  
  • UPLOAD: File you wish to print 

Installing Print Drivers

Disclaimer:  Due to the wide variety of computer configurations and settings, USF cannot guarantee that the software will function properly on all computers and mobile devices.  Your usage of the application is at your own risk.  USF and any of its Contractors, who participated in providing the functionality of the software expressly disclaim any warranty.

Patrons of the Self-Service Print/Copy Program may download print drivers to their personal computers or USF-owned computers managed by USF ITS.  Please review prerequisites and requirements below to select the appropriate print drivers. After installation, restart your computer.

PRINT DRIVERS FOR COMPUTERS NOT OWNED OR MANAGED BY USF ITS​​​​ 

  1. Patron Types:  STUDENTS, Students Employees, Guests, Department Visitors or Short-Term Consultants.  
  2. For installation on computers NOT owned or managed by USF ITS.
  3. To print, connection to the USF network is required
  4. Patron Type: Students - Requires authentication (USF username/password) each time a print job is sent to the USF print server
  5. Patron Type:  Student Employees, Guests, Department Visitors or Short-Term Consultants
    1. Requires typing in the department or guest print/copy card number (located on the front of the card) each time a print job is sent to the USF print server.
    2. Student employees or consultants should contact department budget managers for print/copy cards.
    3. Contact Gleeson Library for guest cards.

PRINT DRIVERS FOR FACULTY AND STAFF USF-OWNED COMPUTERS MANAGED BY USF

  1. For installation on USF-owned computers managed by USF ITS.
  2. USF-owned computer is issued to USF User Name
  3. To print, connection to the USF network is required

  6. USF FACULTY AND STAFF ONLY

 

Pharos Direct Print

  1. Only available on Department-Supported MFP devices.  This option is not available on Public-Use MFP devices.
  2. Only installed on USF-owned computers managed by USF ITS.
  3. USF-owned computer issued to USF User Name. 
  4. Budget Managers are required to submit the requests to itshelp@usfca.edu with the following information:
    1. Department-supported MFP ID number
    2. USF User Name 
    3. USF-owned computer asset tag number and operating system.
  5.  Additional Direct Print Information
    1. Do not use this option if print output is CONFIDENTIAL.
    2. Usernames with 1 assigned FOAP will print automatically to the assigned department-supported MFP device  
    3. Usernames with multiple FOAP assignments will be prompted to select the FOAP every time a print job is sent.
