FYIT Job Description & Qualifications
FYIT is currently accepting applications for the Spring 2017 semester. Please note that applications for Spring 2017 will be reviewed in January 2017. All tutors must attend mandatory weekly training sessions. The tutors work, on average, six hours per week at $15.00 per hour. Tutors work with students individually or in small groups. Each tutoring session is one hour, but many tutors work with several students at each site. The tutoring sessions occur during the school day or after school. Tutors submit weekly progress notes of the students’ progress. Tutors communicate with the teachers and site coordinators regarding the students’ progress. Tutors must only work with students that were assigned to them by the site coordinator.
Tutors must have previous tutoring experience. They must be knowledgeable in the subject matter being tutored. They must be reliable and committed to working within their availability. Tutors must demonstrate empathy to the needs of the student population. Tutors bilingual in Chinese or Spanish are highly encouraged to apply.
