Compliance and Ethics

The most valued asset of the University of San Francisco is our people. We strive to maintain and strengthen a climate which fosters civility, mutual respect, and inclusivity for all community members. The Compliance and Ethics Program provides resources to use in our daily activities to help determine the right course of action and meet our ethical and legal obligations when acting on behalf of the University.

USF Inclusion Statement: The University of San Francisco strives to promote safe, affirming, and inclusive communities for all students, faculty, and staff to learn and work together in alignment with the University's mission. These communities are enriched by the presence of people of different abilities, ages, colors, creeds, cultures, races, ethnicities, family models, gender identities, gender expressions, health statuses, nationalities, political views, religious, spiritual, and philosophical beliefs, sexual orientations, socioeconomic statuses, educational backgrounds and veteran statuses. We welcome, expect, and encourage the continued pursuit of knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to build a more inclusive community which celebrates diversity and works toward justice.

Policy Against Unlawful Harassment, Discrimination, and Retaliation: The University prohibits all forms of unlawful harassment, discrimination, and retaliation in the course of any University educational and employment activity. This includes micro-aggressions, street aggressions, and gender-based harassment.

Title IX Mandatory Reporting: Sexual misconduct is prohibited by federal and state law and by University policy. Sexual misconduct is also contradictory to the University’s mission and values and will not be tolerated in our community. To report potential Title IX violations, please email or call the Title IX Coordinator at (415) 422-4563 or make a report online.

Compliance Training: This training is essential in maintaining a mindful and respectful environment at USF.

University Policies: Policies provide guidance for specific activities and transactions so that we act in accordance with applicable laws, and in a way that supports the mission and core values of the University of San Francisco.
