Accident at Lone Mountain East

Dear Faculty, Staff, and Students,

In an accident late in the evening of Sunday Oct. 3, one of our residents living in the Lone Mountain East (LME) residence hall sustained serious physical injuries after falling from a third floor window.

USF Public Safety, Community Living staff, and medical professionals arrived on site to assist. We have been in contact with our student’s family and want to share that our student is currently in stable condition and continues to receive medical care. Please know that our student has the full support of the university.

A message about the accident was shared with the LME community the morning of Tuesday, Oct. 5.

Healing spaces have been organized for students living in LME and CAPS is available to all USF students. During business hours (8 a.m.–5 p.m.), students can call (415) 422-6352 to make an appointment. ProtoCall is available for after-hours support. Students can speak live to an on-call counselor by calling (415) 422-6352 and pressing option #2. Counselors are available from 5 p.m. to 8 a.m. (PT) Monday through Friday and 24 hours a day on weekends.
