It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jungil (Masaichi) Shin, father of Dr. Hwaji Shin, Associate Professor of Sociology. He was 80 years old. There was a private funeral ceremony on February 8th in Osaka, Japan and the family continues to observe the mourning period based on their Buddhist faith.
In lieu of flowers, the Shin Family asks the community to plant a tree through the local reforestation organization in honor of his life.
