USF Dance Program Offers Newly Redesigned Dance Minor

USF Dance Cypher
Our program offers multiple levels of training in styles including Hip Hop, Contemporary, West African, and Ballet as well as two classes in choreographic composition, and bi-annual opportunities to perform with the USF Dance Ensemble.

The newly redesigned 20-unit Dance Minor provides students with a flexible path toward the fulfillment of Core F, Service Learning, and Cultural Diversity requirements, all while offering diverse opportunities for dancing, choreographing and performing. Our program offers multiple levels of training in styles including Hip Hop, Contemporary, West African, and Ballet as well as two classes in choreographic composition, and bi-annual opportunities to perform with the USF Dance Ensemble. CORE requirements can be fulfilled by Folklorico, Philippine, or Hip Hop Dance and Culture courses (CORE F/CD), a Dance in the Community class (CORE F/SL), Dance and Social History (CORE F), or Dance Cultures and Subcultures (CORE F). With multiple avenues to choose from, those who love to dance will be supported in doing so while simultaneously learning about dance’s political and cultural function in society.
