Mission
Our mission is to cultivate a just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive academic environment.
The College of Arts and Sciences is committed to creating and fostering a community in which diverse viewpoints are encouraged, barriers to success are removed, and students, faculty, and staff — regardless of their identities — are engaged, supported, inspired, and empowered.
To achieve our mission, we:
- Stand against any and all forms of oppression and injustice and take actions to address institutional inequities
- Increase students' educational success and sense of belonging
- Support anti-racist and decolonial teaching practices and curriculum
- Engage in transformational recruitment and hiring practices that positively impact the everyday experiences of students, faculty, and staff
As the largest college at USF, we recognize that our progress toward a more equitable, inclusive, and diverse learning environment plays a crucial role in the University’s future success and, more importantly, the success of our students during their time at USF and beyond.
