John Azevedo
Major: Kinesiology
Minor: Neuroscience; Theology
Statement: Departments are shutting down, health is being sidelined, admissions are decreasing while transfers are increasing. The reason why: our school identity has shifted away from “cura personalis” (care for the whole person—mind, body, spirit). As your president I promise to take on a mantle of service by first, promoting love and generosity in partnership with student led organizations. Second, to promote mental, physical, and spiritual fitness. Third, to continue improving campus safety until every student feels safe, secure, and welcome to share their authentic selves on and off campus. “Changing the world from here” starts with changing ourselves, this campus, and our city; let’s go USF!
Yours truly,
John K.F. Azevedo

REFERENDUMS

Referendum to Increase the ASUSF Student Activity Fee
What is the ASUSF Student Activity Fee?
All undergraduate students pay a Student Activity Fee of $151 each semester. The activity fee supports student organizations’ events and development as well as other student involvement resources and support. Funding is allocated by students, for students, through the ASUSF Senate.
Why is an increase being proposed?
ASUSF last voted to increase the fee in 2023, and costs have significantly increased since that time. The funding is not enough to sustain the current level of activities and events. Read the referendum for more details »
What is on the ballot?
Vote to approve or disapprove an increase of $12 in the Student Activity Fee for four consecutive years (to increase to $163/semester in 2027–28, $175/semester in 2028–29, $187 in 2029–30, and $199/semester in 2030–31).

Referendum to Include the Bay Clipper Pass in the Student Transportation Fee
What is the Transportation Fee?
All undergraduate students pay a Transportation Fee of $155 each semester. The transportation fee provides transportation services including a semester-long SF Muni Pass for unlimited rides on buses, streetcars, and subways.
Why is an increase being proposed?
ASUSF voted to add to the ballot an increase to the transportation fee for all undergraduate students which would expand the Muni Pass to the Bay Clipper Pass, with access to 24 Bay Area Transit Agencies and year-long access. ASUSF believes this change would support students collectively, including off-campus students, students around during the summer, students with off-campus internships or clinical placements, and other benefits. Read the referendum for more details »
What is on the ballot?
Vote to approve or disapprove a change in undergraduate transportation benefits from the Muni Pass to the Bay Clipper Pass, with an expected increase in the Transportation Fee from $155 to/or above $360 per semester beginning in the 2027–28 academic year.
