Referendums

Referendum to Increase the ASUSF Student Activity Fee

This referendum was a vote to approve or disapprove an increase of $12 in the Student Activity Fee for four consecutive years (to increase to $163/semester in 2027–28, $175/semester in 2028–29, $187 in 2029–30, and $199/semester in 2030–31). The activity fee supports student organizations’ events and development as well as other student involvement resources and support. ASUSF last voted to increase the fee in 2023, and costs have significantly increased since that time. The funding is not enough to sustain the current level of activities and events. This referendum had passed the ASUSF Finance Committee, ASUSF Advocacy Committee, and ASUSF Senate General Body Meeting. This referendum was disapproved on the student body ballot, receiving a 41% approval.

Referendum to Include the Bay Clipper Pass in the Student Transportation Fee

This referendum was a vote to approve or disapprove a change in undergraduate transportation benefits from the Muni Pass to the Bay Clipper Pass, with an expected increase in the Transportation Fee from $155 to/or above $360 per semester beginning in the 2027–28 academic year. The transportation fee provides transportation services including a semester-long SF Muni Pass for unlimited rides on buses, streetcars, and subways and the increase would expand the Muni Pass to the Bay Clipper Pass, with access to 24 Bay Area Transit Agencies and year-long access. This referendum had passed the ASUSF Advocacy Committee and ASUSF Senate General Body Meeting. This referendum was approved on the student body ballot, receiving a 62% approval.
