Teaching Development Fund

The Teaching Development Fund (TDF) is a contractually negotiated collective benefit available to all members of the University of San Francisco Part Time Faculty Association (PTFA) to support “adjunct professors who are pursuing work in the areas of course development, student learning and related pedagogical issues.” The total amount of the fund is determined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).

Please note that, according to the CBA, "Teaching Development Funds are intended primarily for domestic participation and travel in the continental United States. A greater weight will be given to domestic uses. International participation and travel may be considered on a case-by-case basis should sufficient funds be available."

As of fall 2019, all part-time faculty at USF (College of Arts & Sciences, School of Education, School of Management, and School of Nursing and Health Professions) apply for the TDF here and only here.

Applications are due on the first Monday after October 15 and the first Monday after February 15. An announcement is circulated via email when the site is open for new applications.
