Why Meet with Pre-Health Advising?
Are you considering become a physician or a nurse? A dentist or a physical therapist? Do you know you want to work in the health professions but not sure in what role?
Pre-Health Professions Advising can help you clarify your goals and strategize ways to become a successful applicant.
Pre-Health Advising Appointments are available to prospective and current students. Alumni are also encouraged to use services as they are preparing to apply to health professional programs.
It is recommended that pre-health students check-in at least once a semester. Appointments are typically 30-minutes and include a variety of topics, including but not limited to:
- Exploration of Health Careers
- Discuss Career Goals Related to Health Professions
- Prerequisite Course Planning
- Identifying Opportunities in:
- Clinical Experiences
- Research
- Community Involvement
- Summer Programs
- Student Organizations
- Reviewing Application Processes and TImelines
- Preparing for Standardized Tests (MCAT, DAT, OAT, GRE)
- Utilizing Resources for STEM Success
