One Earth Initiative Action Plan

In 2021, USF convened a working group for Laudato Si' at USF — now known as USF's One Earth Initiative — that includes faculty, librarians, administrators, staff, and students.

Under the leadership of the Provost’s Office, the Office of the Chancellor | Chief Mission Officer, and the Joan and Ralph Center for Catholic Social Thought and the Ignatian Tradition, the working group first prepared an extensive proposal that drew from hundreds of suggestions from the USF community. Based on the proposal, the working group has developed a draft Action Plan that will ensure that USF centers justice and sustainability as we look to the future here and in our local and global community. The Action Plan will be evaluated and updated annually for seven years, culminating in USF’s designation as a Laudato Si’ university.
