Jayden Joeckel
Major: Politics Minor: Legal Studies; Environmental Studies
Tuition, Transparency, and Free Speech. These are the three biggest issues facing our university’s students and they are the reasons I am running to be your ASUSF Senate President. My allegiance is not to the administration, it is to you, the student body. I am a proud Black, Connecticut-born anti-imperialist and an advocate for human rights from Palestine to the Philippines. My strongest belief is in international solidarity, meaning all our struggles are interconnected, and none of us are free until we’re all free. On campus I am active in the Palestinian Student Association, the Supporting Immigrants and Refugees Club, and USF Votes. Off campus, I am a proud organizer with the San Francisco Committee for Human Rights in the Philippines. I look forward to fighting for you.
Thomas Watterson
Major: Entrepreneurship & Innovation
Hi, my name is Thomas Watterson. I was born and raised in San Francisco. In my free time, I love staying active by going on hikes around the bay and playing basketball. I also enjoy trying new restaurants around the city. I believe I am a good fit for this role because I have experience in leadership positions at my former school, specifically as the president of NSLS and as the VP of the Phi Theta Kappa National Honor Society. These roles taught me the imperative leadership and time management skills necessary at ASUSF.
Natalie Ryu
Major: Politics Minor: Legal Studies, Asian Pacific American Studies (APAS)
Hello! My name is Natalie Ryu and I am currently the ASUSF Student Government Executive Assistant (SGA) where I support our entire senate team’s administrative functions. I previously served as the first At-Large AAPI Student Representative where I authored and published a statement in collaboration with administration to increase communication to the student body regarding housing and facilities updates. Outside of Senate, I am a Team Lead for GO Team and a leadership fellow with the AAPI center.
My campaign is grounded in a commitment to strengthening our existing community relationships and empowering the Senate to continue their impactful work that drives our campus culture to best represent our constituents.
