Dear School of Management Students, Faculty, and Staff,

It is with deep sadness that I write to inform you of the passing of Christina Laskowski, an adjunct professor in our MS in Entrepreneurship and Innovation program who was teaching MSEI 601 (Entrepreneurial Strategy, Marketing, and Planning) this semester at the Downtown Campus. She passed away at California Pacific Medical Center on Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2024. She was 57.

Christina first taught in the USF School of Management in 2018 and returned to our community in fall 2023. A respected senior strategy, transformation, and change professional, she was the founder of Alquemie Ventures and was an active nonprofit leader who provided strategy advisory services. She earned a bachelor of science in business administration from USF in 1997.

She volunteered as president of STAC Silicon Valley (Science & Technology Advisory Council), a nonprofit that works to strengthen tech ecosystem collaboration between Silicon Valley, the Philippines, and the ASEAN region. For her work at STAC Silicon Valley, she was awarded the Order of the Golden Heart, Rank of the Grand Officer, which was conferred by Philippine President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo in April 2010.

Christina was an active supporter of our USF entrepreneurship programs at the undergraduate and graduate levels for 25 years, first as a contest judge, then as a professional guest lecturer. She leveraged her experience in technology management and investment banking, as a USF Entrepreneurship Program Advisory Board Member, and as an adjunct professor in the USF MS in Entrepreneurship and Innovation program. Always upbeat and supportive, she was actively engaged in helping students and others in the communities she served.

I am in contact with her family and will keep the community updated on any arrangements and ways in which condolences may be shared with her loved ones. As a community, we will also be discussing plans to honor Christina’s life and contributions.

In the meantime, please take care of each other and know that there are a number of support resources available to you:
