Program Calendar

The MSDS program follows USF's Academic Calendar. We observe all holidays observed by the University for academic courses. The practicums run on a company schedule, so students must negotiate time off during the breaks with their company mentor.

Summer Semester 2025

  • New Student Orientation: 7/1
  • Summer Boot Camp 2025: 7/2 - 8/7 (Finals take place the last week of classes)

Fall Semester 2025

  • Fall Module 1: 8/19 - 10/10 (Finals take place during the last week of classes)
  • Fall Break: 10/13 - 10/14
  • Fall Module 2: 10/15 - 12/3
  • Fall Finals Week: 12/5 - 12/11

Winter Break (for academic courses; Practicum may continue)

  • Winter Break: 12/12 - 1/1

Winter Intersession 2026

  • Winter Intersession 2026: 1/2 - 1/23

Spring Semester 2026

  • Spring Module 1: 1/26 - 3/13 (Finals take place during the last week of classes)
  • Spring Break: 3/16 - 3/20 (for academic courses; Practicum may continue)
  • Spring Module 2: 3/23 - 5/14
  • Spring Finals Week: 5/16 - 5/21

Summer Semester 2026

  • Summer 2026: 5/26 - 7/3 (Finals take place during the last week of classes)

 

Data Engineering Concentration - Summer 2026

  • Summer Module 1: 5/26 - 7/3 (Concurrent with the final MSDS module. Finals take place during the last week of classes)
  • Summer Module 2: 7/6 - 8/14 (Finals take place during the last week of classes)
