Spring Break Reminders

Dear USF Students,

With Spring Break approaching next week and taking place this week for the School of Law, we want to share reminders about being healthy while you are away from campus.

Please remember to monitor for symptoms during the break and, if you have symptoms, get tested before your return to USF. Please do not come back to campus if you are sick or test positive for COVID-19 while on break. If you are with anyone during break who tests positive, you are considered a close contact and will need to monitor for symptoms and test on day five after your exposure. If you test positive or have a close contact over Spring Break, please email covidtracing@usfca.edu for guidance on returning to campus.

Testing

Testing through GoHealth will be available Monday, March 21 through Friday, March 25 in McLaren.

  • Monday, March 21 | 1–3 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 22 |  9–11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, March 23 | 1–3 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 24 | 9:30–11:30 a.m.
  • Friday, March 25 | 9–11 a.m.

To register, please visit the HPS COVID-19 Resources web page. Students in need of surveillance testing for events should use GoHealth testing in McLaren. University Center drop-in testing is reserved for those who are reporting symptoms while on campus or who have been notified of being a confirmed close contact.

Instruction

A reminder that instructors of in-person classes are not required to provide a remote option to join a class meeting when a student is not able to attend in-person classes due to COVID-related issues or other emergencies. Some courses are not designed to be experienced remotely. Please be sure to read your syllabi carefully, particularly any policies regarding absences and make-up work.

Face Coverings

USF will continue to require masks indoors, including in the Koret Health and Recreation Center. We will revisit our mask mandate at the end of March. Student Life is providing N95 masks to high-risk individuals such as unvaccinated faculty, students, and staff, and KN95 and surgical masks will continue to be provided to the schools and college as supplies allow. Masks are available at Public Safety kiosks.

Thank you for continuing to care for our entire campus community.
